40 Days in the
Word (Winter Series)
Perhaps
one of the reasons more people do not study the Word of
God is that they do not know how to study
it. They do not have the skills or resources. No one
has ever taught them how to study it or given them a
simple and practical PLAN for personal Bible
study.
Join
us for 40 Days In The
Word and find a simple plan for personal
Bible study. It will change forever the way you interact
with God’s Word and hear His voice.

This church wide study series offers every member of our
church with an outstanding opportunity for spiritual
growth. Unlike some programs which come and go and
when they are gone, you only have the experience to
remember, with “40
DAYS IN THE WORD,”
each person will build a foundation
for lifelong spiritual growth. If you
only had one chance to develop your own spiritual life
this year, and also impact the spiritual growth of your
family and friends, this would be the one to
take!

Small Groups
Are the Key!
Small
Groups are the crucial key that makes this
possible. Why is
that? Think about it. Where in the church do
people have a safe place they can talk about their
personal struggles? Where in the church are people
able to really obey the “one another” passages the New
Testament? Where in the church family do people
study and discuss God’s Word and talk about how to apply
it to their own lives? Where do we see authentic
community take place by people loving, caring, serving,
praying, doing, and growing together? |

Try Hosting a
Group!
Hosting
is easy!
Since this program is video based, a host does not have
to prepare a lesson or be a teacher. We
can always use new hosts. Form a group of
just three of you. Make a
group with your family members at
home.
Even
if you have never led a
group before, the coaching instructions in the
“Helps for Hosts” booklet give more than enough help,
and the video coaching for hosts tell a person exactly
what to do. So there is no fear.
You
don’t even have to be a “small group leader” to be a
host. Even new believers who might not feel
qualified to serve as a leader, can serve as a host.
How
much time?
Well, since there is no personal study preparation time
involved, you really do not have to spend a lot of
time. You can focus on learning yourself and being
a shepherd to the people in your group. Fear of
commitment?
Afraid
to commit?
Don’t be. This is not a lifetime commitment, it is only a 6 week
commitment. Pray about it and see if the Lord
might be leading you to be a Host. Think you might be
interested, fill in the “hot cherry” form
in the display holder on your table.

Where Can
Groups Meet?
Groups
can be hosted in homes, coffee shops, downtown offices,
church rooms, apartments, apartment recreation
facilities, almost anywhere you can get a group of 6-10
people together with a DVD player or even just a laptop.
Be
a HOST! Besides getting some really valuable tools
(for free)
- imagine helping someone else start their
journey of learning to study and understand the Bible
for themselves. And, as a host, you are not
limited in who you can invite to be a part of your
group. You can reach inside or outside the church
to invite friends, family, fellow students, co-workers,
etc.

love, laugh, pray, care, serve, do,
grow…together,

provided with DVDs and study materials. Although we did
recommend you purchase Rick Warren’s “Bible Study
Method” which you will want to go deeper (after this
series).
