Luke 1:65 (GW) 65  All their neighbors were filled with awe. Throughout the mountain region of Judea, people talked about everything that had happened.

PRAYER: Oh, it would be so cool, if the church were so alive that all our neighbors couldn’t help but talk about what’s going on here.

Ephesians 2:13-14 (GW) 13  But now through Christ Jesus you, who were once far away, have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14  So he is our peace. In his body he has made Jewish and non-Jewish people one by breaking down the wall of hostility that kept them apart.

PRAYER: Thank YOU for bringing me in.  I pray for the continuing unification of the church under YOUR direction.

Ephesians 2:17,19 (GW) 17  He came with the Good News of peace for you who were far away and for those who were near…. 19  That is why you are no longer foreigners and outsiders but citizens together with God's people and members of God's family.

PRAYER: Thank YOU for making me feel like I belong.  Help me to spread that hospitality.

Ephesians 2:20 (GW) 20  You are built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. Christ Jesus himself is the cornerstone.

Ephesians 2:21-22 (GW) 21  In him all the parts of the building fit together and grow into a holy temple in the Lord. 22  Through him you, also, are being built in the Spirit together with others into a place where God lives.

1 Kings 6:2,38 (GW) 2  The temple that King Solomon built for the LORD was 90 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 45 feet high.  38  … the temple was finished according to all its plans and specifications. He spent seven years building it.

1 Kings 7:1-2 (GW) 1  Solomon took 13 years to finish building his palace. 2  He built a hall {named} the Forest of Lebanon. It was 150 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. It had four rows of cedar pillars supporting cedar beams.

Why yes, Solomon’s house was bigger and took longer than the house built for the Lord.  But that’s OK, God house is more of a token of affection than a container of His presence.

PRAYER: Lord, I  know YOU are not bound by the walls of our worship facility, but we hope to make it pleasant enough that it honors YOU sufficiently.

1 Kings 7:7 (GW) 7  He made the Hall of Justice, where he sat on his throne and served as judge. The hall was covered with cedar from floor to ceiling.

NOTE: And you  thought the “Hall of Justice” was just in comic books.

PRAYER: Lord, I know that the real justice will be delivered by YOU in YOUR good time.  I trust in YOU.
