If you use this weekly guide  - you'll cover all of the Bible in just 300 days.   This is sort of a "Cliff Notes" version of the reading plan that Pastor John uses.  But it's more than just learning stuff.  This helps you to communicate with God.  You'll hear Him, and He will hear you..

QUOTE:

Luke 12:24,28 (GW) 24  Consider the crows. They don't plant or harvest. They don't even have a storeroom or a barn. Yet, God feeds them. You are worth much more than birds. … 28  That's the way God clothes the grass in the field. Today it's alive, and tomorrow it's thrown into an incinerator. So how much more will he clothe you people who have so little faith?

PRAYER: I don’t know what makes me worry so, with YOU so ever present in my life.

Luke 12:29-31 (GW) 29  “Don't concern yourself about what you will eat or drink, and quit worrying about these things. 30  Everyone in the world is concerned about these things, but your Father knows you need them. 31  Rather, be concerned about his kingdom. Then these things will be provided for you.

PRAYER: I’m trying to stay Kingdom focused.

Luke 12:33-34 (GW) 33  “Sell your material possessions, and give the money to the poor. Make yourselves wallets that don't wear out! PRAYER: I know that I struggle with wanting more than giving, meeting my needs more than meeting other’s needs.  Help me to be more like YOU.

2 Thessalonians 3:1-3 (GW) 1  Finally, brothers and sisters, pray that we spread the Lord's word rapidly and that it will be honored the way it was among you. 2  Also pray that we may be rescued from worthless and evil people, since not everyone shares our faith. 3  But the Lord is faithful and will strengthen you and protect you against the evil one.

Luke 12:35,38,43,47 (GW) 35  “Be ready for action, and have your lamps burning. … 38  They will be blessed if he comes in the middle of the night or toward morning and finds them awake. … 43  That servant will be blessed if his master finds him doing this job when he comes. 47  “The servant who knew what his master wanted but didn't get ready to do it will receive a hard beating.

PRAYER: I know what YOU want, and I will be ready.

Luke 12:48 (GW) 48  … A lot will be expected from everyone who has been given a lot. More will be demanded from everyone who has been entrusted with a lot.

PRAYER: And I have been given a lot, I know.  I can do better.  I can do more.

2 Thessalonians 3:6-7,9 (GW) 6  Brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we order you not to associate with any believer who doesn't live a disciplined life and doesn't follow the tradition you received from us. 7  You know what you must do to imitate us. We lived a disciplined life among you.    9  …, we wanted to set an example for you to follow.

PRAYER: I will live an exemplary and disciplined life.  I will be an example to others.

2 Thessalonians 3:11-13 (GW) 11  We hear that some of you are not living disciplined lives. You're not working, so you go around interfering in other people's lives. 12  We order and encourage such people by the Lord Jesus Christ to pay attention to their own work so they can support themselves. 13  Brothers and sisters, we can't allow ourselves to get tired of doing what is right.

NOTE: People who aren’t busy helping others are often ‘busybodies’.  Do what is right.  Live to serve not slam others.

PRAYER: Lord, forgive my complaining to and about others. I want my words and actions to build up and not tear down.

Psalm 149:1 (GW) 1  Hallelujah! Sing a new song to the LORD. Sing his praise in the assembly of godly people.

PRAYER: May this week’s community worship be new and fresh for YOU.  YOU deserve newly baked thanks and praise.  Wake up the sleepy traditionalists who simply do what makes them comfortable.

Psalm 149:4 (GW) 4  because the LORD takes pleasure in his people. He crowns those who are oppressed with victory.

PRAYER: YOU are amazingly supportive and encouraging to ragamuffins like me.

2 Chronicles 30:8-9,18-19 (GW) 8  Don't be impossible to deal with …. Reach out for the LORD. Come to his holy place that he made holy forever. Serve the LORD your God, and he will turn his burning anger away from you. 9  …. The LORD your God is merciful and compassionate. He will not turn his face away from you if you return to him.”  18  …. Hezekiah prayed for them: “May the good LORD forgive 19  those who have their hearts set on dedicating their lives to serving God. May the LORD God of their ancestors do this for those who are not clean as required for the holy place.”

PRAYER: I am unclean and unworthy of YOUR love and attention.  Yet I do want to serve YOU.  Bless YOUR people as we come together this coming weekend to bless YOU.

2 Chronicles 31:5,10,12,21 (GW) 5  As soon as the word spread, the Israelites brought plenty of offerings …. They brought large quantities, a tenth of everything. … 10  The chief priest Azariah from Zadok's family said, “Since the people started to bring the offerings to the LORD'S temple, we have had all we wanted to eat and plenty to spare. The LORD has blessed his people, and there's a lot left over.”  12  they faithfully brought in the contributions, the offerings of one-tenth of the crops, and the gifts dedicated to God. … 21  Hezekiah incorporated Moses' Teachings and commands into worship and dedicated his life to serving God. Whatever he did for the worship in God's temple, he did wholeheartedly, and he succeeded.

NOTE: Here’s the main ingredients of today worship service, besides the obvious praise and thanksgiving, you have the collection of the tithe, a message from God’s Word, and you’ve got sincere fully devoted worshipers.

PRAYER: Lord, YOU deserve so much more than

2 Chronicles 32:7-8 (GW) 7  “Be strong and courageous. Don't be frightened or terrified by the king of Assyria or the crowd with him. Someone greater is on our side. 8  The king of Assyria has human power on his side, but the LORD our God is on our side to help us and fight our battles.” So the people were encouraged by what King Hezekiah of Judah said.

PRAYER: one plus YOU equals a majority.

2 Chronicles 32:20-21 (GW) 20  Then King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah, son of Amoz, prayed about this and called to heaven. 21  The LORD sent an angel who exterminated all the soldiers, officials, and commanders in the Assyrian king's camp. Humiliated, Sennacherib returned to his own country. ….

PRAYER: Thank YOU for hearing and answering our prayers, and doing amazing things.

2 Chronicles 33:6 (GW) 6  He burned his son as a sacrifice in the valley of Ben Hinnom, consulted fortunetellers, cast evil spells, practiced witchcraft, and appointed {royal} mediums and psychics. He did many things that made the LORD furious.

PRAYER: Forgive us for the times we’ve consulted everyone and everything but YOU.  We are so foolish.  YOU guide us!  We seek YOU!!!

2 Chronicles 33:12-13 (GW) 12  When he experienced this distress, he begged the LORD his God to be kind and humbled himself in front of the God of his ancestors. 13  He prayed to the LORD, and the LORD accepted his prayer and listened to his request. The LORD brought him back to his kingdom in Jerusalem. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD is God.

PRAYER: Thank YOU for hearing me in my moments of distress.

THOT: there just aren’t any good excuses for a true Jesus follower.  They are disciplined, hardworking, wholly devoted, tithers (at the least), humble, and appreciate.

PRAYER: YOU did bring peace, and I am an appreciative recipient of it.  But I now realize my peace does not always promote peace with me unbelieving friends.

Luke 12:58-59 (GW) 58  For instance, when an opponent brings you to court in front of a ruler, do your best to settle with him before you get there. Otherwise, he will drag you in front of a judge. The judge will hand you over to an officer who will throw you into prison. 59  I can guarantee that you won't get out until you pay every penny of your fine.”

PRAYER: thank YOU for paying my fine.  Help me to guide other people to settle their accounts with YOU before it’s too late.

2 Thessalonians 3:14-15 (GW) 14  It may be that some people will not listen to what we say in this letter. Take note of them and don't associate with them so that they will feel ashamed. 15  Yet, don't treat them like enemies, but instruct them like brothers and sisters.

PRAYER: Help me to be honest in correction but loving to my wayward brothers and sisters.

Psalm 150:6 (GW) 6  Let everything that breathes praise the LORD! Hallelujah!

PRAYER: I do. YOU are the Mighty One, my Redeemer, the master engineer of all things including me.  Praise YOU.

2 Chronicles 34:21 (GW) 21  “On behalf of those who are left in Israel and Judah and me, ask the LORD about the words in this book that was found. The LORD'S fierce anger has been poured on us because our ancestors did not obey the word of the LORD by doing everything written in this book.”

PRAYER: I know that things just go better when I’m living YOUR Word.  Thank YOU!

2 Chronicles 34:33 (GW) 33  Josiah got rid of all the disgusting idols throughout Israelite territory. He made all people found in Israel serve the LORD their God. As long as he lived, they didn't stop following the LORD God of their ancestors.

PRAYER: As long as I live, may my life inspire devotion to YOU.

2 Chronicles 35:16 (GW) 16  So everything was arranged that day for the worship of the LORD. ….

PRAYER: Prepare hearts for a Holy encounter this weekend as the community of faith gets together in YOUR house.

2 Chronicles 36:14 (GW) 14  All the officials, the priests, and the people became increasingly unfaithful and followed all the disgusting practices of the nations. Although the LORD had made the temple in Jerusalem holy, they made the temple unclean.

PRAYER: Forgive us the times we’ve allowed our culture to influence away from YOU.  And forgive our neglect of YOUR Holy House of Worship.

THOT: Jesus followers must be prepared for rejection, temptation, and trial.
