They despised my every warning. 31  They will eat the fruit of their lifestyle. They will be stuffed with their own schemes. 32  “Gullible people kill themselves because of their turning away. Fools destroy themselves because of their indifference.

PRAYER: May my faith in YOU grow me, and may the results be positively infectious to others.

1 Timothy 1:13,16 (GW) 13  In the past I cursed him, persecuted him, and acted arrogantly toward him. However, I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in my unbelief.  16  However, I was treated with mercy so that Christ Jesus could use me, the foremost sinner, to demonstrate his patience. This patience serves as an example for those who would believe in him and live forever.

PRAYER: Remind me about this patience thing when newbies tax my own.  YOU were merciful to me, I can do that to others.

Luke 13:23-24,26-27 (GW) 23  Someone asked him, “Sir, are only a few people going to be saved?” He answered, 24  “Try hard to enter through the narrow door. I can guarantee that many will try to enter, but they won't succeed. … 26  Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.' 27  But he will tell you, ‘I don't know who you are. Get away from me, all you evil people.'

NOTE: So much for the wishful theory that everyone goes to heaven.  Casual Christianity is not acceptable.

PRAYER: Lord, though it is grace by which I am saved.  My life will demonstrate that I appreciate and value that grace.

PRAYER: thank YOU, thank YOU, thank YOU!!!

1 Timothy 2:12 (GW) 12  I don't allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. Instead, she should be quiet.

NOTE: the word “authority” is really more “usurp or misappropriate authority” or “domineer” which was a problem with a new religion that shockingly grew as strong by means of it’s women as it did with the more culturally acceptable masculine leadership.

PRAYER: Lord, may all teachers, male or female, lead with grace and love.

PRAYER: Lord, what little I give to YOU is a mere token of my enormous appreciation for YOUR love and constant attention.

They told them, “We want to help you build because we worship the same God you worship. …ere.” 3  But Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of Israel's families told them, “It isn't right for your people and our people to build a temple for our God together. We must build it alone for the LORD God of Israel, as King Cyrus of Persia ordered us to do.”

NOTE:  Sometimes what appears to be an answer is really a ploy to keep us from God’s will. Be wise, stay in the Word.

PRAYER: Lord, help us to hear YOUR still small voice against all the shouts Satan and the world would tempt us with.

Ezra 5:5 (GW) 5  But the leaders of the Jews were under God's watchful eye. They couldn't be stopped until Darius received a report and sent a reply to it.

PRAYER: with YOU, we can do all things.

PRAYER: Help me get and stay more focused.

Ezra 6:22 (GW) 22  So for seven days they celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread because the LORD had made them joyful. The LORD had made the king of Assyria change his mind so that he supported the people in their work on the temple of God, the God of Israel.
