PRAYER: I struggle with this.  But I will try to walk by faith today.

Hebrews 11:13,16 (GW) 13  All these people died having faith. They didn't receive the things that God had promised them, but they saw these things coming in the distant future and rejoiced. Hebrews 11:25-26 (GW) 25  He chose to suffer with God's people rather than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a little while. 26  He thought that being insulted for Christ would be better than having the treasures of Egypt. He was looking ahead to his reward.

Isaiah 51:3 (GW) 3  So the LORD will comfort Zion. He will comfort all those who live among its ruins. He will make its desert like Eden. He will make its wilderness like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in it, thanksgiving and the sound of singing.

He was despised like one from whom people turn their faces, and we didn't consider him to be worth anything. 5  He was wounded for our rebellious acts. He was crushed for our sins. He was punished so that we could have peace, and we received healing from his wounds.

PRAYER: There is none like YOU.  Help us to reach people around us who understand rejection and could use a Savior like YOU.

Isaiah 53:6,12 (GW) 6  We have all strayed like sheep. Each one of us has turned to go his own way, and the LORD has laid all our sins on him. 12  So I will give him a share among the mighty, and he will divide the prize with the strong, because he poured out his life in death and he was counted with sinners. He carried the sins of many. He intercedes for those who are rebellious.
