If you use
this weekly guide - you'll cover all
of the Bible in just 300 days. This is sort of a
"Cliff Notes" version of the reading plan that Pastor John
uses. But it's more than just learning stuff. This helps
you to communicate with God. You'll hear Him, and He will hear

(TEV) 15 "Take
care," Jesus warned them, "and be on your guard against
the yeast of the Pharisees and the yeast of Herod."
PRAYER: I am “in” this world but not “of
it”. May we all sincerely shine
for YOU, all the time.
8:17-18 (TEV) 17 Jesus
knew what they were saying, so he asked them, "Why are you
discussing about not having any bread? Don't you know or understand
yet? Are your minds so dull? 18 You have eyes—can't
you see? You have ears—can't you hear? Don't you remember
PRAYER: Oh wow, I don’t always get it. I
don’t always see nor hear. Help
me in those slow dull times.
Corinthians 14:1 (TEV) 1 It is love, then, that you should strive for. Set
your hearts on spiritual gifts, especially the gift of
proclaiming God's message.
PRAYER: We could all be better at being
proclaimers. Give us so much love that we can’t help but share it.
Corinthians 14:12 (TEV) 12 Since you are eager to
have the gifts of the Spirit, you must try above everything else to
make greater use of those which help to build up the church.
PRAYER: May we all be better at building up
Corinthians 14:15 (TEV) 15 What should I do,
then? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray also with my mind; I
will sing with my spirit, but I will sing also with my mind.
Corinthians 14:25 (TEV) 25 their secret
thoughts will be brought into the open, and they will bow down
and worship God, confessing, "Truly God is here among
PRAYER: How amazing that in YOUR kingdom,
truth really does set us free.
(TEV) 1 O Lord, you have always been our home.
PRAYER: YOU are the center of our lives, the
beginning and the end, and the reason for our being.
(TEV) 4 A
thousand years to you are like one day; they
are like yesterday, already gone, like a
short hour in the night.
(TEV) 8 You
place our sins before you, our secret sins
where you can see them.
PRAYER: Those dark and buried things, YOU see
and can help us with. Work with
90:10,12 (TEV) 10 Seventy
years is all we have— eighty years, if we
are strong; yet all they bring us is trouble
and sorrow; life is soon over, and we are
gone. … 12 Teach
us how short our life is, so that we may become
PRAYER: While on this side of eternity, I
could make better use of my time.
19:25,28-29 (TEV) 25 But the men would not listen
to him. So the Levite took his concubine and put her outside with them.
They raped her and abused her all night long and didn't stop until
morning. … 28 He
said, "Get up. Let's go." But there was no answer. So he put
her body across the donkey and started on his way home. 29 When
he arrived, he went in the house and got a knife. He took his
concubine's body, cut it into twelve pieces, and sent one piece to each
of the twelve tribes of Israel..
NOTE: while the “Levite” is no prince
charming, the people of God (Benjaminites)
had become perversely bad. This
is what happens when we stray from the Lord.
PRAYER: Lord, whether small or large
infractions against YOU, forgive us when we stray. May we come together in YOU to hold
one another accountable, to grow strong in YOU, and for YOUR love to be
perfected in us.
THOT: Believers are not exempt from
straying. We need to be
vigilant, disciplined, and always centered in Christ …every day.

8:23,25 (TEV) 23 Jesus took the blind man
by the hand and led him out of the village. After spitting
on the man's eyes, Jesus placed his hands on him and asked him,
"Can you see anything?" … 25 Jesus
again placed his hands on the man's eyes. This time the man
looked intently, his eyesight returned, and he saw everything
NOTE: First, Jesus cares enough to make
things private, then He’ll keep working with us till we’re able to
receive that healing, wisdom, or whatever.
PRAYER: Lord, thank YOU for YOUR patience and compassion.
8:27,29 (TEV) 27 …. On the
way he asked them, "Tell me, who do people say I am?"
… 29 "What
about you?" he asked them. "Who do you say I am?"
Peter answered, "You are the Messiah."
PRAYER: I believe YOU are the Lord of Lords, and YOU are the
Savior, my Savior, my Lord.
14:26 (TEV) 26
This is what I mean, my friends. When you meet for worship,
one person has a hymn, another a teaching, another a revelation
from God, another a message in strange tongues, and still another
the explanation of what is said. Everything must be of help to
PRAYER: May our gatherings be a blessing to YOU, and may they
also be moments of spiritual refueling for the saints.
Corinthians 14:32-33,40 (TEV) 32 The gift of proclaiming
God's message should be under the speaker's control, 33 because God does not
want us to be in disorder but in harmony and peace. As in all the churches of God's people,
… 40 Everything must be done
in a proper and orderly way.
PRAYER: May our gatherings be full of harmony and peace. And though YOU are a friend of
sinners, YOU are still entitled to respect and honor.
Corinthians 14:39 (TEV) 39 So then, my
friends, set your heart on proclaiming God's message, but do
not forbid the speaking in strange tongues.
PRAYER: Give us boldness to share our faith this week.
91:1,11 (TEV) 1 Whoever goes to the LORD for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the
Almighty, … 11 God will put his angels
in charge of you to protect you wherever
PRAYER: Thanks for YOUR constant attention and protection.
91:7,13 (TEV) 7 A thousand may fall
dead beside you, ten thousand all around
you, but you will not be harmed.
… 13 You will trample
down lions and snakes, fierce lions and
PRAYER: YOU and I equals a majority, right?!!
91:15-16 (TEV) 15
When they call to me, I will answer
them; when they are in trouble, I
will be with them. I will rescue
them and honor them. 16 I will reward them with long life; I will save them."
PRAYER: I think it’s incredible that YOU even want to hear me let
alone be with me, bless me, and ?honor? me. Wow!!!
20:11 (TEV) 11
So all the men in Israel
assembled with one purpose—to attack the town.
PRAYER: Wouldn’t it be cool if all of the church (Baptists,
Catholics, whatever) united for the purpose of claiming our city
for the Lord.
20:21-2246-47 (TEV) 21 The army of
Benjamin came out of the city, and before the day was over they
had killed twenty-two thousand Israelite soldiers. 22 Then
the Israelites went to the place of worship and mourned in
the presence of the LORD
until evening. They asked him, "Should we go again into battle
against our brothers the Benjaminites?"
answered, "Yes." So the Israelite army was encouraged,
and they placed their soldiers in position again, where they had
been the day before. …
all, twenty-five thousand Benjaminites
were killed that day—all of them brave soldiers. 47 But six hundred men were able to escape to the open
country to Rimmon Rock, and they stayed
there four months.
NOTE: Israel would be led by the Lord to
attack three times (losing 22k, 18k, and 30 men) before finally
having victory. When
brothers fight brothers, everyone loses something.
PRAYER: I lift up my brothers and sisters and pray for such unity
that YOU are honored and we are left unharmed.
21:25 (TEV) 25
There was no king in Israel at that time.
Everyone did whatever they pleased.
PRAYER: Sounds like the American Church. May all believers put YOU back on
the throne of their hearts, right now!
THOT: while on earth, even believers stray
from the Lord and each other.
Yet if we strive to keep the Lord in the center – we enjoy
His love, protection, and even power.
Read: Mark 8:31-38, 1 Cor 15:1-28, Psa 92, Ruth 1
8:31-32 (TEV) 31
Then Jesus began to teach his disciples: "The Son
of Man must suffer much and be rejected by the elders,
the chief priests, and the teachers of the Law. He will be put
to death, but three days later he will rise to
life." 32 He made this very clear to them. So Peter took him
aside and began to rebuke him.
PRAYER: How many things have YOU clearly declared that I choose
not to hear because I didn’t want to. Forgive me Lord.
8:34-35 (TEV) 34
Then Jesus called the crowd and his
disciples to him. "If any of you want to come with me,"
he told them, "you must forget yourself, carry your
cross, and follow me. 35 For if you want to
save your own life, you will lose it; but if you lose your life
for me and for the gospel, you will save it.
PRAYER: I surrender my will to YOUR’s. I will live a sacrificial and
obedient life to YOU.
(TEV) 38 If
you are ashamed of me and of my teaching in this godless and
wicked day, then the Son of Man will be ashamed of you when
he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."
Corinthians 15:1 (TEV) 1 And now I want to remind you, my friends, of the Good
News which I preached to you, which you received, and on
which your faith stands firm.
PRAYER: YOU are my resurrected Lord and Savior.
Corinthians 15:3-4,14,17 (TEV) 3 I passed on to you what I
received, which is of the greatest importance: that Christ
died for our sins, as written in the Scriptures; 4 that he was buried
and that he was raised to life three days later, as written
in the Scriptures;… 14 and if Christ has not
been raised from death, then we have nothing to preach and you have
nothing to believe. … 17 And if Christ has not been
raised, then your faith is a delusion and you are still lost in
PRAYER: YOUR resurrection, one of the world’s greatest undeniable
mysteries, and the rock upon which my faith stands.
92:2 (TEV) 2 to
proclaim your constant love every morning and your faithfulness every night,
PRAYER: I wake up “loved” I go to bed “at peace”
92:5 (TEV) 5 How
great are your actions, LORD!
How deep are your thoughts!
PRAYER: Power and wisdom are YOUR’s!
92:12-14 (TEV) 12
The righteous will flourish like
palm trees; …. 13 They are like trees planted
in the house of the LORD,
that flourish in the Temple of
our God, 14 that still bear fruit
in old age and are always green and strong.
PRAYER: May we all prove this true as we continually grow
spiritually stronger and continuously fruitful.
1:16-17 (TEV) 16
But Ruth answered, "Don't ask me to
leave you! Let me go with you. Wherever you go, I will go;
wherever you live, I will live. Your people will be my people, and
your God will be my God. 17 Wherever you die,
I will die, and that is where I will be buried. May the LORD'S worst punishment come
upon me if I let anything but death separate me from you!"
PRAYER: Oh that we should be as committed in the Body of Christ,
THOT: Love often means sacrifice (of
self, personal goals and creature comforts). But in Christ, it always ends up

9:7 (TEV) 7 Then
a cloud appeared and covered them with its shadow, and a voice came
from the cloud, "This is my own dear Son—listen to him!"
PRAYER: I am trying, help me to ignore the noise of this world
9:10 (TEV) 10 They
obeyed his order, but among themselves they started discussing the
matter, "What does this 'rising from death' mean?"
NOTE: In Mark 8:32 we’re told that Jesus
made this really clear. So
the disciples hearts just weren’t
receiving this yet.
PRAYER: Lord, thank YOU for YOUR patience with me.
Corinthians 15:33-34,48 (TEV) 33 Do not be fooled. "Bad
companions ruin good character." 34 Come back to your
right senses and stop your sinful ways. I declare to your
shame that some of you do not know God. 48 Those who belong
to the earth are like the one who was made of earth; those who
are of heaven are like the one who came from heaven.
PRAYER: May the wayward churchians find
YOU and fellowship in YOUR true church.
Corinthians 15:36 (TEV) 36 You fool! When you
plant a seed in the ground, it does not sprout to life unless it
PRAYER: So I will die to myself, in hopes of YOU raising me up in
Corinthians 15:42-44 (TEV) 42 This is how it
will be when the dead are raised to life. When the body is buried,
it is mortal; when raised, it will be immortal. 43 When buried, it is
ugly and weak; when raised, it will be beautiful and
strong. 44 When
buried, it is a physical body; when raised, it will be a spiritual
body. There is, of course, a physical body, so there has to be a
Corinthians 15:51,55-57 (TEV) 51 Listen to this secret truth:
we shall not all die, but when the last trumpet sounds, we shall
all be changed in an instant, as quickly as the blinking of an
eye. For when the trumpet sounds, the dead will be raised,
never to die again, and we shall all be changed. … 55 "Where,
Death, is your victory? Where, Death, is
your power to hurt?" 56 Death gets its
power to hurt from sin, and sin gets its power from the Law. 57 But
thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord
PRAYER: I am grateful!
Corinthians 15:58 (TEV) 58 So then, my dear
friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your
work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the
Lord's service is ever useless.
PRAYER: I will keep working, I will remain strong in the
faith. However little my
accomplishments, I know that they matter to YOU,
…that I matter to YOU.
93:3-4 (TEV) 3
The ocean depths raise their voice, O LORD; they
raise their voice and roar. 4 The LORD
rules supreme in heaven, greater than
the roar of the ocean, more powerful than the waves of the sea.
PRAYER: Yet, I struggle to really hear YOU. Heal my heart, open my hearing, clear my eyes to see YOU in everything today.
2:11-12 (TEV) 11
Boaz answered, "I have heard about
everything that you have done for your mother-in-law since your
husband died. I know how you left your father and mother and
your own country and how you came to live among a people you
had never known before. 12 May the LORD reward you for what you
have done. May you have a full reward from the LORD God of Israel, to whom
you have come for protection!"
Ruth 3:11 (TEV) 11 …
as everyone in town knows, you are a fine woman.
PRAYER: May my reputation be a good one amongst this
community. May I be known
for my service and loyalty to others, and my devotion to YOU.
3:3 (TEV) 3 So
wash yourself, put on some perfume, and get dressed
in your best clothes. Then go where he is threshing, but don't let
him know you are there until he has finished eating and drinking.
PRAYER: So a little primping isn’t bad, huh?!!
THOT: The believer’s work may be small
and remain unnoticed by the world, but the Lord observes,
appreciates our work, and blesses us for it.
Read: Mark 9:14-32, 1 Cor 16, Psa 94, Ruth 4
9:22-24 (TEV) 22 "Many
times the evil spirit has tried to kill him by throwing him in the fire
and into water. Have pity on us and help us, if you possibly can!"
23 "Yes," said Jesus, "if you yourself can! Everything
is possible for the person who has faith." 24 The father at once cried out, "I do have faith, but not
enough. Help me have more!"
PRAYER: This is the story that gives me
hope. I don’t know why I have
such doubts when YOU have been nothing but amazing and faithful. Thank YOU for YOUR patience and
9:28-29 (TEV) 28 After
Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why
couldn't we drive the spirit out?" 29 "Only prayer can drive this kind out," answered
Jesus; "nothing else can."
PRAYER: May the church not only be an amazing
collection of transformed lives, but may it be filled with more and “pray”ers.
Corinthians 16:2 (TEV) 2 Every
Sunday each of you must put aside some money, in proportion to what
you have earned, and save it up, so that there will be no need to
collect money when I come.
PRAYER: My tithes is more appreciation than
rent. I really do appreciate YOU
and I want the ministry of the church to spread the WORD.
Corinthians 16:13-16 (TEV) 13 Be alert, stand firm in the faith, be brave,
be strong. 14 Do all your work in love. 15 You know about Stephanas and his
family; they … have given themselves to the service of God's people.
I beg you, my friends, 16 to follow the leadership of such people as these, and of
anyone else who works and serves with them.
PRAYER: Raise up more “Steves”. May I be a faithfilled,
courageous, and persevering servant for YOU and YOUR church.

people, how can you be such stupid fools? When
will you ever learn? … 11 The

PRAYER: Yeah, like we could fool YOU?!! Oops.
94:12-14 (TEV) 12 LORD, how happy are those
you instruct, the ones to whom you teach
your law! 13 You give them rest from days of trouble until a pit is dug to trap the wicked. 14 The LORD will not
abandon his people; he will not
desert those who belong to him.
PRAYER: I appreciate YOU even wanting to
teach me let alone watch over me.
(TEV) 15 Justice
will again be found in the courts, and all righteous
people will support it.
Ruth 4:15,17 (TEV) 15 Your
daughter-in-law loves you, and has done more for you than seven sons.
And now she has given you a grandson, who will bring new life to you
and give you security in your old age." …. 17 The
women of the neighborhood named the boy Obed. They told everyone,
"A son has been born to Naomi!" Obed became
the father of Jesse, who was the father of David.
NOTE: Ruth a non-Jew would by faith and
obvious devotion/service eventually become a great grandparent to not
only King David, but Jesus Himself.
PRAYER: Ruth is another encouraging story of
YOUR love and devotion to whomever would love and be devoted to YOU. I have hope!
THOT: true believers don’t have to be perfect
or of a certain lineage, they just need to show a little bit of faith
and loving service.
