Campaign - "The Genius of Generosity"
The Apostle Paul described the generous life as the “life that is truly life”.
And Jesus described the generous life as a “more blessed” life than
one of getting. In a culture that says "get
more and you will be happy," Jesus says, "give more and you will be happy."
And Jesus practiced what He preached...He
gave His very life so that you and I might be rich.
Think about it for a
moment. Certainly you know
people in your life who are most generous...are
they not some of the happiest, most joy-filled people you've
encountered?
You may be thinking, "Ok, what's the catch? What are you
trying to get me to give?" The reality – we don't want
something from you when
it comes to the generous life, we want something for you. We want for you to experience:
- joy...
- freedom...
- purpose...
- reward...
- accomplishment
And that will be reward enough,
we’ve already
experienced a tinge of what a generous church life can be
like. I believe that
our investment in cows and water and shoe boxes in the last several
years – is exactly why Salem did not endure the hardship of
what seemed all the other churches around us.

Determine
your own level of growth
 “Genius
of Generosity” is a very short (four-week) experience
into the generous life. Sunday morning are the cheer leading and foundation laying parts of this
growth opportunity. But
like usual, it is in the arena of our smaller gathering (our Discussion
Groups) where we fine tune and learn the personal
applications of the truths we’re hearing on Sunday
mornings.
Our
challenge
First, commit to coming Sunday
mornings Sept.18 through Oct.9th for the Biblical foundation
of this concept. Secondly, consider joining a Discussion Group (free)
or create one of your own at home (for just $29 which covers the DVD
and Guide book).
Two pieces that will make this work!
There
are two key components to help you absorb what promise to be life
changing truths:
1. Sunday Morning
Messages. We’re going to dig
into some relevant bible stories. But better yet ...
2. Join a Small
Discussion Group. These groups have the
benefit of a DVD driven teaching plus plenty of time to discuss your
questions and share your findings.
Finally, we hope to have this up and running in time…

isn’t going to cost you anything.

anytime and there won’t be any horrible relational repercussions
(we’re all OK with you just trying us out).
3. Thirdly, there's a lot of
value in listen to other people's ideas on how to "live a
generous" lifestyle.

join a group is that you have the chance to positively affect someone
else’s life for the better.
